MEET YOUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS
MRS. STACEY VINSON
Stacey Vinson serves as the Guidance Director here at HMS. Prior to becoming the director, Stacey worked as a counselor in multiple settings including public schools, a juvenile detention facility, and a girls group home. Mrs. Vinson has had the pleasure working with every age group and is loving her current role at the middle school level. She attended Chesapeake Public Schools for her entire K-12 education; therefore, she thoroughly enjoys serving the community that she was once a part of.
Mrs. Vinson graduated from Indian River High School and attended Longwood College and Old Dominion where obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. She later attended Liberty University and received her Master of Education degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Vinson takes great pride in education achievement and continues to advance her professional development in order to serve her school and students successfully.
In her spare time, Mrs. Vinson enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and being outdoors. Her future goals are to expand her educational and professional credentials, build a ranch in North Carolina, and raise her children to become successful and kind adults.
MRS. RENE GREEN
Rene Green is the sixth grade school counselor. She has served as a school counselor for nine years at Hickory Middle. Prior to her counseling position, Mrs. Green taught fifth grade in Virginia Beach for one year and third grade in Chesapeake for six years. Mrs. Green truly enjoys working with and assisting students.
She graduated from Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, VA and attended VA Wesleyan college for her Bachelor's degree in elementary education and obtained her Masters of Education degree at Cambridge College. She is a certified school counselor for grades PreK-12th.
She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, reading, watching movies, and traveling. Mrs. Green looks forward to a successful school year.
MRS. PASSION STUDIVANT
MRS. CINDI DASHIELL
Mrs. Studivant serves as the 7th grade school counselor. She has had the opportunity to work with students in the post-secondary, secondary, and primary setting. As an alumnus of the Chesapeake Public School District, she is very proud and extremely excited to join this wonderful school in educating and preparing the next generation of lifelong learners.
Mrs. Studivant graduated from Old Dominion University with her Bachelor’s degree and quickly returned to earn her M.S. Ed. in Counseling. She acquired a dual degree in College Counseling and School Counseling and has spent the last few years counseling in the higher education setting. She is a National Board Certified Counselor, a member of the American School Counseling Association, and a member of the Virginia School Counseling Association.
Mrs. Studivant is married and has one daughter. She enjoys traveling, listening to music, home improvement activities, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Dashiell is the 8th grade counselor for Hickory Middle School. She has worked in North Carolina and Virginia public school systems for many years first as an art teacher and later as a counselor. Having worked with students at all age groups, she prefers working with 8th graders above all others!
Mrs. Dashiell obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Elizabeth City State University, Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University, and Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Virginia.
A proud mother of two grown children and grandmother to three, Mrs. Dashiell’s favorite pastime is…can you guess??? That is right…spending time with her family! Additionally, Mrs. Dashiell enjoys her dogs and creating works of art derived from people and nature. Mrs. Dashiell is a published artist as well.
